Backdrop Progress

Finally.  Today I got back to making some progress on the layout.  I finished building about half of the "backdrop plate" and even got the first sheet up.  Here are some pictures...

Getting that backdrop rounded was a lot harder than I had expected it would be, especially considering I did it by myself.  I came up with a clever strategy involving clamps and just kept tightening it up until it was at about the radius I think it's willing to bend to (around 12" radius).

One thing I did notice was...

The above shot is from my eye level.  Hmmm... looks kind of tall doesn't it.

I'm hoping that once it gets painted a sky blue and there is a gradient down to white that it will feel more normal.  That and once there are trains filling up the layout no one will be looking at the backdrop anyways (I hope).
