Revised Module Benchwork

I made some revisions to my module benchwork design.  Yesterday I mentioned 2 problems with my previous design.  I've found some ways to improve on those issues.

Overview
Most of the changes are related to the "foam ply" that makes the surface for the track.  In the previous design I was planning on a ply of 1" foam, 1" foam, then 1x2 dimensional lumber framing.  However I realized I could reduce some of the material there and I'm instead considering 1/2" foam, 1/2" foam, 1/8" hardboard, then 1x2 framing.

There were a couple of reasons for this change.  First, locally I can only find 2" foam and 1/2" foam so I needed to consider that in my design.  It's completely possible to use a 4-ply of 1/2" foam with the only downside being that it might take longer to construct since I'd have to wait for that ply to dry.  The cost difference wasn't that different.  However I realized that if I swapped the bottom layer of foam for 1/8" hardboard I get a few benefits, mainly related to turnout mounting.

Solved: Leg Pockets Too Short
By making the upper ply shorter it gives more room for the leg pockets to be fastened to the mounting plates on the left and right.

Solved:  Turnout Throws through 2" foam
By making the upper shorter it should allow the throw wire to not need to be extremely long to work well.  Additionally, with the bottom piece of the ply being wood it should make mounting the throws much easier.

Solved:  I hate foam
Well, I hate 2" foam.  I suspect that working with 1/2" foam will be much easier since a box cutter or longer razor blade should be able to cut all the way through it.  Really, I'd rather do a cut twice for 1/2" foam than once for a 1" piece of foam.  I'm hoping the thinner foam will restore my enjoyment of working with that material.

I did have one last concern -- I'm slightly worried I may be "under-engineering" here, using too little material or having too little structure.  I guess there's only one way to find out though...
