Back In Action

With the holidays here, and with it holiday vacation time, I finally set aside some days to get things going again.  After spending a lot of time considering Sn3 and HOn3 I've decided to stick with HO standard gauge because I'm finally willing to acknowledge that with my current state of life (father, career, etc.) it's just not within the realm of possibility for me to get the momentum on a narrow gauge layout.  Between the kit assembly, the high prices, the large radius required, and the general lack of on line industries in narrow gauge I decided to move on.

On to bigger and better things.  As I've said before, a layouts theme is much less important than the time and money on hand.  A working layout that you can interact with and enjoy is better than a theoretical layout that exists only in plans.

So with some renewed direction in HO, I invested a solid 2 days straight over Thanksgiving in getting the shelf layout up and running with a new direction and working track!  I had previously built a small section over my work bench to be a staging track.  I removed this benchwork section and replaced it with a wider one which is now a yard.
