It amazes me a bit how much free access to information we have now. Google Earth/Maps/StreetView is a huge resource to model railroaders. Even for those who don't model the modern era, things of the past can still be found (though they may need some back-dating). As I've been virtually flying around in the sky lately, here are a handful of industries that are visible both by satellite and by street view.
