The Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show was in Denver this weekend. I ended up spending about 4ish hours there yesterday. We took my son, who is starting to have an interest in trains as well (no doubt contributed to in no small part to his dad).
I ended up with a few convention finds in the swap meet area...
A SuperTrees starter kit and a trestle jig. Everybody seems to love SuperTrees but I've never tried them, and thought this was an inexpensive way to do so.
The trestle jig is made by Black Bear Construction Co, a company I just learned about last week. The jig also included a little instruction sheet of what size wood to use, so I'm going to have to try and play around with this sometime soon. I've been meaning to pick up some Hunterline wood dye but haven't found any local retailers yet. Might just have to bite the bullet and pay for shipping.
