Sn3 Narrow Frame Tank Car Progress

The tank car build is coming to an end.  I finished weathering the tank car body.  When I looked through photograph of real narrow frame tank cars, I noticed a lot of them had a vertical streaking effect.  I tried to simulate this with the airbrush.  This was actually the first time I tried to use the airbrush to do the "streaky" effect.

I think what's left for the body is to do a little dusting with some pigments/weathering powders.  I also need to attach the brake chain (far left).  The trucks are looking a bit shiny.  I think I'm going to tone them down with some black weathering powder then it hit them with some flat finish.

The wheelsets were hand painted with PBL's neolube.  I'm not yet sure if I'm sold on that look.  I might pickup one of PBL's wheel painting jig and airbrush them instead.  We'll see.

Next time I'll get out the tripod and shoot outside for natural light with a better depth of focus.
