- The trunks were drybrushed Raw Sienna
- The branches were concentrated towards the top to mimic ponderosa pine
- The branch length was kept more or less consistent to mimic ponderosa pine
- Flocking material changed
Here you can see the difference in the trunk it makes. The raw sienna trunk look a lot closer to the real thing to me.
Here's the first generation tree (left) next to the second generation (right) with a scale figure for reference.
I also tried a new blend of foam for the "normal" pine here on the right. And I painted the figure too because it looked boring in gray. This lighting here of the tree on the left is probably closer to what indoor layout lights would look like.
