This is just a quick update before I head off to dinner. The BullFrog turnout controls finally came in from Fast Tracks.
I purchased all unassembled units (they're $3 cheaper each that) which means the days that followed were me building them. I seem to be doing about 1-2 a day depending on how much time I spend on it. They don't require a lot of effort and really probably the main thing that slows it down is that I like to leave them clamped and the glue drying for a while before going on.
Here are a few assembled units, waiting for hardware...
While I was out this weekend I also swung by an out of the way hobby shop in the off chance they happened to have anything interesting in stock. Well they did -- a Blackstone multi-pack in Rio Grande flying herald, weathered, AND on sale. It was the last one, sitting on the shelf by itself. Well you know I couldn't pass that up.
That picture doesn't do it justice. The cars are extremely detailed and worth the extra cost.
