I've Been Painting on the Railroad

I've been up to a lot of misc model railroad activities.  I'll post about them in upcoming blogposts. For now, however, I took advantage of the time off around Thanksgiving and today basically finished the backdrop for the first 40% of the layout.  This is as far as I'm going to take things for the moment.

Not too bad?  Well in any case, I wanted my backdrop to be primarily "filler" -- as in you shouldn't notice it.  It shouldn't steal attention from the layout.  It's just a backdrop.

I have a few bits of cleanup to do here and there on the paint job but otherwise I think it's on to finalizing the track plan for this section and installing the sub-roadbed!
