Track Lighting

I did a little test run with the track lighting today.  I didn't install it on it's own circuit, nor did I separate it out on a dimmer.  It's bolted into where the basement light used to be.  It's a very simple install.  Anyways, I really like the color of the light and the flexibility of the track lighting, but there is one problem.

The pictures are showing the 2 foot backdrop.  I plan to bring this up to 3 feet, making it within 6" of the top of the ceiling.  Given that I'm experimenting with track lighting you can probably figure I decided to go with the "open top" look instead of the museum "upper valance" style of layout.  Also, I decided to move the layout back to the original corner I had it in before as it just worked better with the layout of the basement.

As you can see, the track lights loaded with CFL's ("Daylight" color) produce a very nice color and is great to photography.  Here's the problem...

Those multiple shadows are NOT what I was hoping for.

I attempted to do some clever re-arranging of light.  I was able to minimize it some but there will always be subtle shadows from the other lights around.  My wife said it's not that bad but it's one of those things that's glaring to me.  I may just learn to live with it or find a company that makes diffusers for the end of the lights.
